Remembrance Sunday

I am told that Morley is one of the most patriotic towns in the country and Morley did not disappoint on Remembrance Sunday.

Thousands of people of all ages lined the streets of our town to pay their respects to those that have defended our country and those that continue to defend.

Four group members represented the group to lay wreaths at the War Memorial: Louise Backhouse, Richard Hampshire, Kate Nicoll and Denise Brown.

Denise also laid a wreath in memory of her husband, David Brown, who had served with the Green Howards. Many group members also attended the ceremony.

After the ceremony, many of the community joined the Mayor in the Town Hall for hot drinks. It was a privilege to take part in the ceremony and to thank those that have given their futures to secure ours.
